The Colorado Fruit & Vegetable Growers Association (CFVGA) is inviting local food and social media enthusiasts to apply to join its Farm-to-Table Influencer Tour July 9. The tour will begin at City Park Farmers Market at 8:30 am with a look at the market and a special treat from market vendor Ela Family Farms, Hotchkiss, Colo. The tour will then visit Petrocco Farms, Brighton, Colo., and Monroe Organic Farms, Kersey, Colo. The tour will conclude mid-afternoon with a special Colorado food-focused meal and brews at the historic Tivoli Brewing Company.
“This is a great opportunity for Colorado consumers to get a close-up-and-personal look at how Colorado produce is raised, marketed and prepared for consumption,” said Marilyn Bay Drake, CFVGA executive director. “We would love to have influencers and aspiring influencers who are enthusiastic about local farms and food participate in this tour. Participants’ only ‘pay’ is to take lots of photos and videos and to post with abundance on their social media channels.”
The tour is free to individuals who are actively posting on social media. Those interested in participating in this tour can apply at https://cfvga.memberclicks.net/farmtotabletourjuly92022 Space is limited to 55 participants, so apply early to reserve a spot.
The CFVGA Farm-to-Table Influencer Tour is funded by the Specialty Crop Block Grant Program administered by the Colorado Department of Agriculture. It is designed to increase purchases of Colorado produce.
The Colorado Fruit & Vegetable Growers Association represents more than 260 members, including growers of all sizes and types of production throughout the state. The Colorado produce sector contributes nearly $485 million to Colorado at the farm gate and is multiplied as it goes through the distribution chain. Over 90,000 Colorado acres are in fruit and vegetable production.
